The idea
Maslow’s 1943 theory groups needs into physiological, safety, belonging, esteem, and self-actualization. Use it to reflect on what needs attention. Human needs can overlap; life does not follow a strict five-step ladder.
How to use it
- Notice which needs feel well supported.
- Identify one area where a small improvement would help.
- Choose a practical action: rest, stability, connection, confidence, or meaningful work.
In practice
Before adding another productivity goal, you might address inconsistent sleep or isolation. Supporting a basic need can make the next goal easier to pursue.
